Graham Cave State Park, Danville, MO - Oct 31 - Nov 2

We were off season at this state park and enjoyed the solitude it offered.

 Hermann, MO - Nov 1

We took a day trip to this quaint German town that was recommended to us. We enjoyed walking around, stopping in stores, hanging out in a coffee shop, and eating lunch at a local pizza shop.

St. Louis, MO - Nov 2 - 5

We stayed at 370 Lakeside Park in St. Peters, MO and used it as a base to explore the area, including St. Louis.

City Museum, St. Louis, MO

This is a playground for adults and children alike. It included climbing, scooting, torquing your body and in some cases challenged your mind as you moved through welded tubes that were four stories in the air.

Fort Massac State Park, Metropolis, IL - Nov 6 - 8

As all of the signs in town let you know, Metropolis is the home of Superman. The park sits next to the Ohio River.

Land Between The Lakes, Cadiz, KY - Nov 8 - 10

An interesting park that is in both Kentucky and Tennessee. There is a fenced in prairie where bison and elk roam and live. We got a permit for dispersed camping and got to park right next to the lake for the night.

Nashville, TN- Nov 10 - 27

We lived in Nashville for 15 years and it is always fun to visit somewhere that we have such solid roots.  We took two weeks to visit with friends, eat at restaurants we love, and walk at some of favorite parks like: Shelby Bottoms, Beaman Park, and Radnor Lake. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner in our friend's kitchen. Colleen also got to work with several students in person.

After two years on the road, we made a blog post to commemorate the milestone. Check it out:

Mammoth Cave, KY - Nov 27 - 30

Even though we were less than two hours from Mammoth Cave when we lived in Nashville, we never went and explored the caves until now. While we were there, one day we did a cave tour and another day we took a hike in the forest. We were off season and enjoyed the solitude we experienced in the park.
