Mount Rainier National Park, WA - June 4 -7

- Paradise -
There were several "seasons" going on in the park.
We were not prepared for the amount of snow that was still on the mountain.

- Comet Falls Trail -
There was some snow on the trail that made the last bit of it a little challenging.
We had the pleasure of meeting up with Nashville friends!

- Cougar Rock Campground -
We had a view of Mount Rainier from the campground, and were introduced to blacktail deer.

- Nisqually River -
Across the road from the campground was this rock and water wonderland.
It was a playground for our two year old friend, and her hand-standing dad!

Chelan & Manson, WA - June 7 - 9

A beautiful area created around a stunningly aqua blue lake, made from glacier water.
Our first night we stayed at a Botanical Farm, and the second night at a winery, both Harvest Hosts.

North Cascades National Park, WA - June 9 - 13

There was still a lot of snow around in the park and some roads were not open yet. We enjoyed the hikes and exploring  that we did.

- Blue Lake Trail -
This was a fun hike that became strenuous as the last 1/4 mile was covered in 4 feet of snow. We saw a couple of bear prints in the snow but didn't get to see the bear. While we were eating lunch next to the frozen lake we heard an avalanche. It was thunderous and had Colleen running to hide behind some rocks!

- Ross Lake Trail and Resort -
Ross Lake is one of the most unique places that we have been. You can get there by hiking or by taking a ferry. We chose to hike. We walked across the dam, and then continued hiking through the forest until we got to the floating resort. We rented kayaks; the wind was so extreme in the afternoon that it felt like we were paddling in the ocean.

Salt and Cedar Bed and Breakfast, Port Angeles, WA - June

We helped some folks we met last year with the opening of their newly owned Bed and Breakfast. Colleen got to do some baking and Graham played bartender.

We liked this well kept port town. We walked from Downtown and the marina to Uptown for dinner.

McMenamins Edgefield, Troutdale, OR - June 28

We visited with friends that we met last year at Sol Duc Hot Springs in the fall. They took us to our second McMenamins property which we are totally into!
